At Meroda Cosmetics, we ship to customers around the world. If you're ordering from outside the European Union, your parcel may be subject to import VAT, customs duties, handling fees, or other local charges when it reaches your country.
Here's what you need to know before placing your order.
Delivery Times
Delivery times vary depending on your destination, shipping method, local carrier, and whether your parcel needs to clear customs.
Typical delivery times are:
European Union (EU): approximately 3–7 business days
International destinations outside the EU: approximately 5–10 business days
Regions requiring customs clearance: delivery may take up to 12 business days or longer if customs processing is delayed
United States: generally up to 10 business days
Australia: generally 7–11 days in transit, excluding any additional customs processing time
These are estimated delivery times and not guaranteed delivery dates. Local carrier delays, customs processing, public holidays, weather, and other circumstances outside our control may affect delivery.
Customs, Import VAT & Additional Charges
If your order is being delivered outside the European Union, it may be subject to additional charges when entering your country.
These can include:
Import VAT or local taxes
Customs duties
Customs clearance fees
Carrier handling or administration fees
Other charges imposed by local authorities
The customer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, handling fees, or other charges applied to their shipment upon import.
These charges are determined by your country's customs authorities and/or the carrier. They are not charged or collected by Meroda Cosmetics, unless explicitly stated otherwise during checkout.
Because these charges are imposed locally, we're unfortunately unable to predict their exact amount before your parcel reaches your country.
Why Have I Been Charged Customs Fees?
Customs regulations vary between countries.
When a parcel enters a country outside the EU, local customs authorities may assess the shipment and determine whether taxes, duties, or other fees are payable before or during delivery.
The amount you may be charged can depend on factors such as:
The destination country
The value of the shipment
The type of products ordered
Local VAT and import rules
The carrier's customs handling fees
Meroda Cosmetics does not determine these charges and does not receive the money collected by customs authorities or carriers.
What If I Don't Want to Pay the Customs Charges?
We recommend checking your country's import rules before ordering if you're unsure whether additional charges may apply.
Choosing not to pay customs duties or import charges may result in your parcel being refused, held, or returned to us.
Any refund eligibility for a parcel returned due to unpaid customs charges will be assessed once the shipment has been returned to our distribution centre and processed in accordance with our returns and refund policies.
Customs Processing Can Cause Delays
Once your parcel enters customs, the clearance process is handled by the relevant local authorities and carrier.
Some parcels clear customs very quickly, while others may take longer because of:
Additional documentation checks
High shipment volumes
Local public holidays
Customs inspections
Staffing shortages
Local import requirements
Unfortunately, Meroda Cosmetics cannot speed up or control the customs clearance process.
If your tracking shows that your parcel is being processed by customs, we recommend continuing to monitor the tracking information provided by the carrier.
Factors That Can Affect Delivery
In addition to customs, delivery times can be affected by:
Destination and distance – Remote and international destinations may take longer to reach.
Customs processing – International shipments may require additional clearance before delivery.
Local carrier handling – Your parcel may be transferred to a local postal or delivery service for final delivery.
Weather and disruption – Severe weather or other local disruption may affect transportation networks.
Carrier delays – Unexpected logistical issues can occasionally delay a shipment.
Replacement Orders
Replacement orders are processed as quickly as possible, but their delivery time will still depend on the destination, shipping method, carrier network, and any applicable customs procedures.
Creating a replacement order does not guarantee a specific delivery date.
Orders Within the European Union
Orders shipped to destinations within the European Union generally do not require import customs clearance between EU countries.
If you receive an unexpected customs or import charge for an EU delivery, please contact our Customer Support team with details of the charge so we can review what happened.
Shipping to Switzerland
For orders delivered to Switzerland, shipping is free for purchases of 55 CHF or more.
For orders below this amount, the applicable shipping cost will be displayed during checkout based on the available shipping method.
Please remember that any customs duties, import VAT, handling fees, or other local charges applied to the shipment are the customer's responsibility.
