Will I need to pay Norwegian VAT or import charges?
Yes. Meroda does not currently collect Norwegian VAT at checkout. Your order may therefore be subject to VAT, import charges and carrier handling fees when it enters Norway.
These charges are assessed and collected by the Norwegian authorities or the local delivery carrier. The exact amount is not determined or collected by Meroda, so it is not included in your checkout total.
What does “free shipping” include?
Free shipping means that Meroda covers the cost of sending your order to Norway. It does not include:
Norwegian import VAT
Customs charges that may apply
Fees charged by the local carrier for processing the import
How can I check whether VAT was included in my order?
Your checkout summary, order confirmation and invoice show the amount charged by Meroda. If no VAT amount is shown, Norwegian VAT was not collected as part of your purchase and may be charged when the parcel enters Norway.
Why can’t Meroda show the exact import cost at checkout?
We are currently pending VOEC registration, which will allow us to collect Norwegian VAT at checkout in the future. Until this is in place, import charges are assessed by the Norwegian authorities and any handling fees are applied by the local carrier, so we cannot confirm or display the exact amount.
Will Meroda reimburse Norwegian VAT or import charges?
No. VAT, import charges and handling fees paid to the Norwegian authorities or a local carrier are not paid to Meroda and cannot be reimbursed by us.
We recommend considering these potential additional costs before placing an order for delivery to Norway.
